Honestly, I hated Season Three Meadow in general. Her behaviour was absolutely unbearable a lot of the time, and at least with AJ in this season, his antics were funny. While I still cannot stand her for most of the season, this video gave me more of an appreciation for her role in this scene. Though I'd still argue she expresses her frustrations like a petulant brat, those frustrations are a lot more understandable now.

Back in the day i was watching your "I want wings" video but then i still didnt read berserk however i knew its story to certain degree. After finally reading whole manga your video poped up again and i realised fully about what you were talking about there. And then i found this video telling me so many lil details like "man from the corpses" that i didnt notice before. Great job and i really love your work! Thank you VERY MUCH for all the time you spent on this. In a way each of us are own Guts in the road called "life" and we always can choose path we go. Either hard or easy or we met people who had very "unfair" start like Griffith xD I hope berserk ends in some happy ending because Guts deserves something after constantly getting robbed of stuff he wanted

My theory for the end of the series is that Griffith will end up like the Count and sacrifice himself since he has no purpose anymore he realises he made the complete wrong choice during the eclipse and now he’s trying to fix it by sacrificing either himself or choosing the godhand themselves since he has a “bond” with them. All other endings that involve guts killing him or him killing guys just seems ill suited to berserks story

I rewatched the 1st episode after watching the entire realized that 1st episode was like a loose sumary to the show just like tarrentino does sometimes with opening dialogues

I never really thought about the corpse motif. My take, after watching this video is that Griffith is using corpses to reach his goal of having a kingdom, Guts is breaking out of corpses after killing said people to leave them behind and press on for another day.

Male action heroes have been called badass for decades, despite most if not all having flaws. And some even having complexities or rich backstories that led them to being who they are. And nobody is trying to take their title of badass away just because there might be more to them. That if we call them badass, we don’t appreciate their character depth or nuances. But when it comes to female action heroes considered badass, some seem to be more fickle and contradictory. And then someone feels the need to make several videos about how the female characters from Black Lagoon who are known by all to be badasses, totally aren’t actually. Except your reasoning is nonsensical. You made up a definition of the term that doesn’t fit what the actual term means, just so you can draw a line in the sand that somehow makes these women not badass. If you have to be disingenuous to make a point, you don’t have a point. Others have already pointed out that your notion that characters can’t be both badass and damaged people is untrue, and based in semantics. But it’s even further past semantics, considering you’ve made up your own definition, and doubled down on it when people provided the reasons why your argument holds no weight, instead of considering you might be wrong. That’s not a way to grow as a creator. Either way, even if you think that the similarly damaged but badass men of the show don’t count as badasses by your own definition either, that’s not what you titled your videos. You specifically brought attention to the women. Both to have an eye catching title, but also because of double standards. You may not have been doing it intentionally, but trying to make the case that women known for being badass specifically actually aren’t, even though they fit all the parameters badass men get automatic passes to(and no video essays trying to prove otherwise), is a double standard. Video essays can be just people’s opinions, and there’s no right or wrong opinions. But when you go into arguments of objectivity, and act intellectually dishonest about subjects just because you don’t like or agree with it, it’s no longer just an opinion. Since this was 3 years ago, hopefully your videos have improved.

i dont hate him , i hate guts for being a narrow 2 braincells slayer character and thats it . i am for complex smart characters , i am for untold plans and hidden agendas . i dont care about what he did i care about how he is written and this is why i like him as ugly as he is. i am just not fan of characters that are too primale so i hate guts most. i hate in fact most anime antagonists and often lean thowards their team rivals who are often introverted and smart. i dont understand why writers have to go always with stupids MCs . is it because most readers are so it need a narrow character for a narrow reader ?

I think that another approach as to why Griffith is so despised, is that despite having divine powers, despite him being able to do anything and, perhaps, take his friends and comrades out of hell and out of suffering, he simply chooses selfishness and egoism, and with wanting wings no less, a way of "taking off" and separating from the misery he caused.
